Local SEO for Medical Practices

When someone searches for a medical practice near them, you want them to find your practice, trust what they see, and call. We improve how your practice appears on Google Maps, Google Search, your website and AI search, while you focus on running your practice.

Where Patients Look for a Medical Practice

We ran the search the way a patient would, on a phone, for two kinds of medical practice: dentists and chiropractors. They are two examples, and we have not measured other kinds of practice. Here is what Google and ChatGPT showed.

The map comes first.

For "dentist near me" and for "chiropractor near me", Google's map of local businesses was the first result on the page. In both searches Google showed no AI overview.

Many profiles are thin.

In our sample, 70% of dentist profiles and 68% of chiropractic profiles had fewer than 25 Google reviews.

Some profiles were never claimed.

45% of the chiropractic profiles in our sample had a Google profile that the business had not claimed.

AI assistants already name practices.

When we asked ChatGPT who the best dentist is in that city, the answer named at least two practices. For chiropractors, it named at least four.

There are 762 dentist businesses and 323 chiropractic businesses within 15 km of the center of a large Arizona city in the data we used. We looked at the first 100 of each. Based on the first 100 businesses per type of practice within 15 km of the center of a large Arizona city; one "near me" search per type of practice on a phone, one day; one ChatGPT question per type of practice. Measured October 11, 2026. This is not all of Arizona. It describes those two types of practice, not every medical practice. Dentist profiles in this sample likely include profiles of individual doctors as well as practice profiles. Read the dentist figures as a description of profiles, not of any single practice.

Where a Medical Practice Can Be Missed on Google

If any of these looks like your practice today, that is where our work starts. The figures come from our sample of dentists and chiropractors, two examples of medical practices.

Google profile

The map shows up before your website does, and your profile may not be on it.

For "dentist near me" and "chiropractor near me", Google's map of local businesses was the first result on the page. 45% of the chiropractic profiles we checked had never been claimed by the business.

What we do. Your profile is claimed, complete and kept current, so your practice is a choice on that map, not a name under it. If it was never claimed, we start there.

Reviews

A rating or a review count that doesn't show your practice at its best.

In our sample, 70% of dentist profiles and 68% of chiropractic profiles had fewer than 25 Google reviews. 18% of dentist profiles and 1% of chiropractic profiles were rated below 4.0 stars.

What we do. Every patient gets asked for a review, the same way, every time, and every review gets a reply. We ask every patient, not just the happy ones. Our replies never mention a diagnosis, a treatment, or whether someone was a patient. We don't write reviews for you, and we can't promise a higher rating.

Website & AI search

AI assistants already name local practices when someone asks who is best.

When we asked ChatGPT who the best dentist is in that city, it named at least two practices. For chiropractors, it named at least four. A website is where a visit can turn into a call, and it can only do that if a stranger sees what you offer, where you are and how to reach you at a glance. You can check yours in a minute: open your home page as a stranger would, and look for those three things.

What we do. We work on the website you already have and set up your AI search visibility, so your practice is one an assistant can find and describe. We do not promise a place in any AI answer.

What Local SEO for Medical Practices Includes, in Four Places

Google Maps.

This is where your rating, your reviews and your replies live, and it is where the plan we'd start a practice on begins. We optimize your Google Business Profile, and if it was never claimed, we start there. We set up a way to ask every patient for a review, such as a QR code, SMS and email, and we handle the replies to the reviews you get. We ask every patient, not just the happy ones, and Google's rules do not allow asking only for the positive ones. We don't write reviews for you. Replies to reviews follow one rule: they never mention a diagnosis, a treatment, or whether someone was a patient. The U.S. Office for Civil Rights, which enforces health privacy rules, said in a June 5, 2023 announcement that answering a negative online review with a patient's details is not allowed.

Google Search.

We keep your practice's details consistent across the online directories where it is listed, and track where you show up locally, month by month.

Your website.

From Local Growth, we work on the website you already have: its pages, how it turns visitors into calls, and what Google can read on it. We check whether it clearly shows your services, your locations and how to reach you. A new website is a separate offer that is priced separately: see New Websites.

AI search.

Assistants may describe your practice, and we help them understand who you are, what you do and where you operate. In Local Growth we set up your AI search visibility. In Local Authority we monitor it. We do not promise a place in any AI answer, and AI answers change from month to month.

How It Starts for a Medical Practice

1

A 15-minute intro call.

Free. Before the call, we look at your online presence. On the call, we show you three things: how you show up on Google today, your reviews (rating, number, how recent they are and whether they're answered), and whether your website clearly shows your services, your locations and how to reach you.

2

A straight answer.

We tell you what we'd do, or tell you straight if we're not the right fit. No pressure, no obligation.

3

A 90-day start.

If you go ahead, the one-time $500 setup covers the work we do once at the start: your Google profile, the review-request system (QR code, SMS and email), your business listings and a starting measurement. Your 90-Day Progress Review compares against that measurement.

Questions Medical Practices Ask Us

Do you work with dentists, chiropractors and other medical practices?

Yes. Medical services is one of the kinds of local business we work with. We have measured how dentists and chiropractors show up on Google, and the same three plans and prices apply to every kind of medical practice.

How much does local SEO for a medical practice cost?

Local Visibility is $377 a month, Local Growth $577 and Local Authority $877, plus a one-time $500 setup. The setup is charged once, at the start. The prices are the same for every kind of practice. Each plan lists exactly what is in it, so you can see what the monthly price covers. Anything that isn't in your plan is a separate offer, and we tell you so up front.

How long do I have to stay?

Plans start with a 90-day minimum. After that, you can cancel with 30 days' notice. Your 90-Day Progress Review comes at the end of the first 90 days, so you see what was done before you decide anything.

Will you get my practice to number one on Google, and how will I know it's working?

No, and nobody honest can promise that. We don't guarantee rankings or call counts. We take a starting measurement, and at 90 days we review your Google visibility, reviews, website activity and completed optimization work with you, so you can see what has changed. Between those reviews, you get a monthly visibility review written in plain language, and we handle replies to your Google reviews.

How do you handle reviews from patients?

We set up a way to ask every patient for a review, such as a QR code, SMS and email, and we handle replies to the reviews you get. We don't write reviews for you, and we ask every patient, not just the happy ones. Our replies never mention a diagnosis, a treatment, or whether someone was a patient.

What if my practice's Google profile was never claimed, or is out of date?

That is one of the first things we look at on the intro call. Setting up and optimizing your Google Business Profile is part of the one-time $500 setup, and keeping it in order is part of every plan.

Do I need a new website, and will ChatGPT recommend my practice?

You don't need a new website to start. The plans cover work on the website you already have, from Local Growth. A new website is a separate offer: see New Websites. As for ChatGPT and other AI assistants, we can't promise a place in any AI answer. In Local Growth we set up your AI search visibility, and in Local Authority we monitor it. AI answers change from month to month.

What happens on the intro call?

It's 15 minutes. We look at how you show up on Google today, your reviews and your website, then tell you what we'd do, or tell you straight if we're not the right fit. No pressure, no obligation.
